I was traveling with my daughter and needed a way to get her and all of our stuff through the airport, as well as a way to protect the seat once we gate checked it. This bag was a huge help. The material is very sturdy, and there is light padding to protect the car seat from the run of the mill bumps. It won't protect it from a major fall, but this is far more substantial than other car seat bags I've tried. The zipper goes all the way around, making getting the car seat in and out pretty easy.Other things to keep in mind:Car seats are heavy. Period. They feel even heavier when worn on your back. I folded up a towel and put it behind the base of the car seat so that it wouldn't create a big pressure point on my lower back. It helped.If you are gate checking and going through TSA with this (In the US) you may need to take the car seat out of the bag. The screening machine was not big enough for our car seat to pass through, so this required a hand-check by an agent. So they had to unpack the whole thing.Once I was done with TSA I was able to take our heavy winter coats and toss them into the bag with the carseat, so it also acted like extra storage. It was nice not having that extra spaceUpdate....I have the Chicco Next Fit Zip Air Max. I read a reviews that it does not work AND reviews that it does. Let me tell you that at first it did not work. We could only get it in and half zipped, so the entire top was flappy. This was just enough to wear it on our back. After we went through TSA, I decided to try it again. I found that IT DOES FIT, but you need to put it in backwards at an angle. It zips very snug toward the end and I found that by using my diaper bag stroller strap (secured to both zippers) helped get it all the way closed and acted as an added secure feature to keep it closed through whatever it went through behind the scenes while in the care if the airport (checked at the gate).UPDATE::I on the flight home, I decided to check the carseat for under the plane. I was hesitant bc I didn't want my car seat thrown and beat up, but did only bc I had way too many bags to carry. DO NOT DO THIS! I now have a ripped bag from it being thrown and my pretty new car seat is now scuffed up. I even had a fragile tag on it.? If you get this, Check it at the gate. I am buying a different car seat carrier. It would have been fine if I checked it at the gate like I did the first time. ?My biggest complaint is the cheap bag materialThat rips easily. The zipper is cheap metal, too! It's okay. I changed my stars from a 4 to a 3 after my return flight. I would technically give it 3 1/2.I do like how the corners are paddedThis is one of those items I didn't know I needed and now can't figure out how we would travel without it. We fly a couple times a year. Right now our youngest is a lap baby so we check the car seat. The bag has some padding and offers some protection when it is tossed around in the planes' undercarriage, which can prevent some damage during transit. Soon though she will be old enough to have her own seat and we will have to carry the car seat through the airport. The car seat alone is to cumbersome to carry and past trips have involved us frustratingly muscling the silly thing through multiple terminals with our carry on luggage and two other kids. With this bag, you can just slip it on like a back pack and have free hands to carry your other luggage and grab your sprinting kids. Granted, it's big...and heavy...but now it's big and heavy and easy to carry:) To help figure out if this will work for you, we have a britax marathon and I had to wiggle it a bit to get it seated at the bottom of the bag but it fit and zipped all the way around it with a little room to spare. There was enough room to store some things in the seat part of the car seat if we wanted to. Possible baby party gift:)This was awesome! After 3 flights it held up great and easy to wipe down. It held my daughters britax convertible car seat and then I put my other daughters booster seat in there too no problems! I bought a cheaper gate check bag for our car seats in 2019 and after one flight all of the seems came apart and it was duct taped together when we got it back. So this time I did my research and found this one. It’s sturdy, thick & a bright color for easy finding as I just checked it with our checked bags this time. It was really easy to carry on my back to and from dropping it off and picking it up after the flight.WE FREAKING LOVE THIS THING! (Used with a Graco Baby Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat)My husband and I are "go-ers." We don't like to sit still. We have family all over the country. We generally just like being on the move. After taking a year off when our tiny was born, this year we planned 4 trips that would involve flying with a child in a car seat. We opted to invest in what was billed a tough bag that would last us through the trips rather than some of the flimsier options.This bag is perfect. It's tough. After the first gate check, it came up with dust, scuff marks, and plenty of evidence that it had been tossed around in getting it from the jetway, to the plane, and back again. The car seat inside looked brand new. We were thrilled! All of the dust and scuffs came right out with a brief dusting off, and the bag looked good as new as well.It's currently been through two gate checks--Spirit Airlines in Atlanta, and Frontier Airlines in Houston. No trouble getting it through security. Incredibly comfortable to wear. The gate agent who brought it up to the jetway when we arrived in Houston was actually WEARING it and commented on how cool he thought it was.Absolutely would purchase again, though I don't expect I'll have to! Looking forward to Tampa, LA, and Hartford later this year!Great product, especially because of the padding. It’ll protect the car seat v well. Highly recommended.Worked great - and the straps handle weight of the seat just fine. Also it was roomy enough that I could pack our diapers in there with the seat, to save on luggage room. (Talk about a #PackingHack). It picked up some black scuffs that are quite visible on the purple canvas - but I'd rather have a bright piece of luggage (easy to find / identify) over a black one that hides the dirt. It was worth the money for us.We were able to fit both the car seat and another removable stroller seat in the bag while traveling. It was very useful, but be aware that it is a very big bag, and once full, it can also become very heavy and difficult to lift/wear.Surprisingly bearable to carry. The extra strap around the waist helps take away some of the weight in the shoulders and makes the car seat seem lighter than you’d expect. Fit our Graco 4-in-1 car seat well and held up well in checked luggage.Excellent bag.
