It does a great job in deflecting the heat. The concept would make this a great product but it’s kind of a pain to use. I have a GMC 2500 sierra and when you try to open it like the instructions tell you to do, the wires to the umbrella usually end up getting stuck in the dash vents and then the review mirror gets in the way. I imaging this will be a problem for just about anyone. The only way I can do it somewhat with no problem is open it before I stick it up over the dash however if I have a passenger they will get whacked in the face and I’m still trying not to get the wire stuck in the dash vent. I’m thinking one would be better off with the window covers that you fold into a circle. They are easier to handle and go in the dash with no problem. Great idea but it’s just not worth the hassle. I will use it till it breaks beyond use then going back to the “old school” ones. ** I’ve had this sun shade for a month now purchased August 11 update review September 6th. Once I figured out the system that works for me this shade really is awesome!! You can definitely tell the difference when you don’t use it vs when you do. My truck used to get so hot when I didn’t have this shade and would affect the efficiency of my air conditioning. This has helped with providing cooler air from the ac. As far as the operation of the shade, I really like how easy it is to install and take down. What I learned is if I begin to open it before I stick it up in the windshield I am able to get the bottom of the shade past the dash vent. Then as I finish locking the shade up the shaft I pop it behind the rear view mirror. For added support I just drop my visors down to hold the shade up. Pretty easy to operate all I had to do it’s give this a chance. I like the product and will get one for my wife’s car. I highly suggest using this shade over the other ones you see in the market.We ended up buying the wrong size and the company sent us the right size at no charge! We love how easy this product works and a great value for the price! Keeps our car much cooler as we have no room to park our car in the garage, so the car is out in the sun all day! Great product!!It was great for a week or do, then I noticed it's flimsy, doesn't cover, and the mechanics are cheap. When I open a few times in the car trying to fit the windshield, one of the metal broke. Oh well , I thought send it back to Amazon for credit. Before I could do that , the seller already email me about the purchased. I told her what happen and she send me a replacement right away.The replacement was fine and does the job.Shade is very easy to open up and put on the dash. I got a Cadillac XT4, it fits almost perfect . Help and protect the car heats esp in arizona.Shade is great and customer is amazing.This thing works great and is easy to put up in the windshield and to store away.However the quality of product you get for $50 is absolutely terrible after the third use, two of the support bars have already snapped and broken. Communication was good and new product works great.The sunshade works greatSo it is convenient to open and close it like an umbrella. One of the arms keeps falling out of the pocket for the screen so I have to fix it with each use. I tried to bend the handle as shown to really push it up against the window but it was really stiff so I just let it hang and use my visors to secure it. I had to travel to Vegas in miserable weather, I do think this kept the car cooler compared with the traditional accordion sun shields I have used in the past.My previous one from my old car was to large for my new one. I picked this one because of the cut out for the rear view mirror. It fits well and isn't to hard to open and use.Product is well made and easy to use. The bag ? to store it in is well made and not cheap looking. I ordered the medium size and it looks like it is still to big. Will have to send it back and get the small size. The Handle is hard to bend at a 90° angel. With the umbrella windshield sunshade it allows for the rear view mirror ? to be placed and protected from the sun. The "V shape" shows you what side is the top and bottom. It also allows for the rear view mirror ? to be protected from the ?. . I would recommend this sunshade ? to anyone looking for protection from the UV rays and to keep the car ? from getting to hot ?. It's a simple and great way to keep the cars interior from getting to hot.
